			<description>For the very first time, the Turner Prize exhibition&amp;nbsp;is coming to the North East and opens on 21 October 2011 at the BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art Gateshead.
The exhibition runs until Sunday 8 January 2012 and the winning artist will be announced at a celebratory event at BALTIC in December 2011.
The Turner Prize is awarded each year to a British artist under the age of 50 for an outstanding exhibition or other presentation of their work in the twelve months preceding.
